The year of my graduation from Monmouth University, this year centered around my many projects coming to a conclusion, including my thesis, which was about the severe and ongoing water crisis in Gaza, Palestine, caused by military blockades, attacks, and enforcement of apartheid laws (i.e., laws that apply to Palestinians, but not Israeli settlers). Other projects included in the gallery show will also be displayed here.
Currency Design Project Redesign:
Financial Independence for Liberated Palestine
The design of these banknotes is intended to celebrate Palestinian heritage, culture, and most importantly to celebrate the lives of martyrs whose lives were taken in the fight for freedom.
After briefly consulting with a Palestinian activist, he told me the focus on Palestinian politicians and artists - while important - is leaving out the people who are less visible, less celebrated, and easier targets for violence: the civilians whose lives are constantly being uprooted by apartheid.
